Properties and indications:

Desowen lotion® (0.05% desonide) is a corticosteroid, which has anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and vasoconstrictive properties.

Desonide uses in the treatment of:

  • psoriasis;
  • eczema;
  • eczema from degreasing;
  • atopic dermatitis;
  • contact dermatitis;
  • seborrheic dermatitis;
  • hand dermatitis;
  • inflammatory and pruritic manifestations;
  • allergic reactions.

The composition and release form:

lotion for external use 30ml/1.01 fl oz


Active ingredient:

desonide – 0.05 % w/w

Inactive: cetyl alcohol, edetate sodium, glyceryl stearate SE, light mineral oil, methylparaben, propylene glycol, propylparaben, purified water, sodium lauryl sulfate, sorbitan monostearate, and stearyl alcohol.

May contain citric acid and/or sodium hydroxide for pH adjustment.

Contraindications:

  • hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients of the preparation;
  • children under 12 years;
  • pregnancy and lactation.

Side effects of the preparation

Frequently (about 8% of cases): burning and a slight tingling sensation.

Rarely (in about 2-3% of cases): irritation, contact dermatitis, desquamation, pruritus, erythema.


Properties and indications:

  • clean the skin by applying a cleanser;
  • applied 2-3 times a day, depending on the severity of the condition, to clean, dry skin, avoiding the eyes and lips;
  • after the procedure is required to wash your hands;
  • therapeutic effect develops after 2 weeks of treatment. If no improvement is seen within 2-weeks, then necessary to revise the diagnosis of your health care provider;

Special instructions:
